Walking along the lakeshore in Ossuccio you can feel the great history. On one side, the medieval complex of Ospedaletto with the church of Santa Maria Maddalena and its characteristic bell tower and, on the other side, the view over the Island, tresure chest of history and religion.Ospedaletto is the name given by the locals to the Lido di Ossuccio, today a place of relax that was formerly a Hospitalis, a place of hospitality for pilgrims during the Middle Age.
From Ossuccio, along a stretch of the famous Green Way, we will slowly reach the Barbarossa Tower, built in medieval times and included in the defensive system that was built around the Comacina Island. It’s the perfect spot to see the island and the lake.
