The Devil’s Bridge

Lezzeno – Towns on Lake Como Italy – Slow Lake Como

The Devil’s Bridge

So close to Bellagio and still so little-known, so little visited. No glamour, the fascination of Lezzeno, a long village of homes between the mountain and the lake, is a true, somehow mysterious beauty, disturbing according to some. According to tradition here witches and the devil himself feel at home. It is hard not to believe it when you move from the mythical and hidden Devil’s Bridge. Let’s start from here, from this bridge suspended in a wild context, but soon the trail reveals a paradisiacal landscape with little-known views on the opposite shore where Villa Balbianello stands. A spectacular promenade, all the way with views towards the Lake, ending in the heart of an unmissable village for those who really want to know the hidden soul of our territory.

Product Description

An about two hours long walk, with great naturalistic interest, offering astonishing views over the Lake and surrounding mountains. Starting from the legendary “Devil’s Bridge” we begin to immerse ourselves in a varied nature and then, slowly, in the atmosphere of Lezzeno and its territory always surprising and contradictory. Great paradisiac views on one side and rugged and sloping mountains on the other. As you approach the first houses of the village you have the feeling of approaching a fascinating and complex small world. Here you can find the hidden but still authentic beauty of old fishermen’s houses, abandoned or rebuilt mines, secluded beaches, but also small and narrow streets that have been the background, between history and legend, to stories of witches, miracles and devils. Return to the starting point by public transportation.
